PrestaShop Monthly, April 2026

De PrestaShop Team

Following an eventful March, April has been yet another busy month at PrestaShop. In this (late) April edition, we’ll have a look at the latest module releases and product updates, and, in case you missed them, the announcement of a major upcoming event, following the footsteps of the PrestaShop Day. Without further ado, here is your monthly roundup of what happened recently.

What’s new

PS Summit 2026, powered by Sylius and PrestaShop

Anything planned for November? This year, we are bringing together the PrestaShop and Sylius ecosystems for a major event in Lyon: the PS Summit 2026. As a meeting point for ecommerce leaders and decision-makers, this event will gather over 500 professionals on November 4 and 5. Attendees can expect practical workshops, developer-focused tracks, and joint sessions focused on business trends, best practices, innovation, and opportunities. At PrestaShop and Sylius, we are building the future of open-source and commerce, and we need you to work with us. Entry will be free, and registrations are opening soon.

In the meantime, the Call for Papers is open, and we want to hear from you. Join us on stage and share your projects, insights, experiences, and perspectives with the community. If you’re a developer, a merchant, an agency, or an open source contributor, you can send us your ideas here.

PrestaShop MCP Server

PrestaShop MCP Server is out of beta! This version includes new authentication modes (Token & No-Auth), STDIO transport for local development, and native n8n compatibility for workflow automation. It also includes Prompt Templates and Resources (static & dynamic) to give agents better context, while strengthening security through a full audit, granular access controls, and Tool Annotations (read-only, destructive) to guide LLM behavior. The module is built on the official MCP PHP SDK for maximum reliability.

PrestaShop Roadmap

We know that you asked for a clearer view of our roadmap, which is why it is now available on our website. It lists the latest new features, upcoming releases, and the associated estimated timelines (including for PrestaShop 10). It will of course be updated as plans evolve, so we recommend keeping this link in your bookmarks :)

Main product updates

Teaching AI to speak PrestaShop: We are rolling out Repository Intelligence, an AI-agnostic approach that puts PrestaShop's conventions directly into each repository so any AI tool (Claude Code, Cursor, and others) can read them. In the core, a dedicated .ai/ directory hosts a hierarchical context covering domains (Cart, Customer, Order, and over fifty more), components (Grid, Hook, CQRS, Forms, and the rest of the Tier 1 set), and a growing set of skills for working on the codebase. Smaller repositories like ps_apiresources and Hummingbird ship the same convention as a single root CONTEXT.md. A separate PrestaShop/skills repository hosts global skills for operating on a running shop. The goal is simple: help any developer, on any AI tool, ship correct PrestaShop code from the first try.

Security patches (8.2.6 and 9.1.1): On April 28, we released PrestaShop 8.2.6 and 9.1.1 simultaneously. Both patches address the same Critical stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability (CVSS 9.3) in the back office Customer Service view (GHSA-w9f3-qc75-qgx9). Updating as soon as possible is strongly recommended. A hotfix module and a manual patch are also available for shops that cannot update immediately.

Big thanks also to community contributors @PrestaEdit, @MAX-IT-Tech, @Codencode, and @soledis-contributeur.

Live Update recap and replay: Our first Live Update of 2026 brought CEO Mikołaj Król, COO Damian Murawski, and General Manager Olivier Binet together for the first time since PrestaShop's acquisition, alongside a recap of the 9.1 and 8.2.5 releases and an in-depth look at the upcoming One Page Checkout for PrestaShop 9.2. Around the ecosystem

In April, we announced numerous strategic partnerships, aimed at providing PrestaShop  merchants with more choice and more options when it comes to adding tools and services to their store. We are happy to call OWI Tech, Accessiway, Shoppingfeed, Spoki, and Youlend our newest partners.

We also went to the E-Commerce Warsaw Expo, which was a great chance to connect with the Polish e-commerce community and share our vision for the future of PrestaShop during our presentation. Over at the PrestaShop Village, we teamed up with cyberFolks.pl, Sylius, and several of our expert partner agencies, including Convertis, JustIdea Agency, PrestaPros, Tebim, and Waynet. Thanks to everyone who stopped by the booth to chat and catch up with us.

This June, the PrestaShop Tour will visit four cities in Europe, to meet the community of merchants, agencies, ecommerce specialists, and developers. Our team will be happy to meet you in:

If you’re in these cities on those days, you know what to do.

And that’s it for this month. Next month’s updates are already in the works (one in particular will be worth… checking out), and we have further releases right around the corner.

Stay tuned.
