PrestaShop Monthly, June-July 2026
In May, we hinted that June's updates would be big. Now, we're excited to show you why, even if you may have already heard about it! June and July have been rich for the PrestaShop project. The main highlight is PrestaShop 9.2 beta. Let’s have a look, shall we?
What's new
PrestaShop 9.2 is available as a beta
Here's a closer look at the major additions in this pre-release. They are designed to modernize the platform, simplify development, and empower merchants.
One-Page Checkout: native and faster
Until now, PrestaShop only offered a multi-step checkout. With 9.2, we are adding a native One-Page Checkout module directly into the core. A unified checkout is essential for modern ecommerce, especially on mobile, while relying on third-party modules could cause compatibility issues.
This new native feature offers a faster and smoother experience. It prioritizes guest users and has zero page reloads during delivery and payment selection. Merchants can easily switch between one-page and four-page flows in the back office. If you are a payment and carrier module developer, please review our updated guides. This will ensure your solutions work smoothly with the new flow.

Extra Properties: standardized field extension
For developers, extending core entities like Products, Customers, or Orders used to mean building custom tables and required writing repetitive persistence logic for every module. PrestaShop 9.2 introduces Extra Properties: a native, standardized system to attach custom fields to any entity. We developed it in close collaboration with Kiwik.
For merchants, it ensures a cleaner, more maintainable data structure.

Ask AI: intelligent back-office assistance
Store management can now be conversational: PrestaShop 9.2 introduces Ask AI, a new assistant built directly into the back office. With it, merchants can query store data and perform actions using natural language.
Ask AI is powered by our own PrestaShop MCP Server and can be connected to your own API key for ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or other compatible LLMs. Ask AI is also built with safety in mind and always asks for merchant confirmation before performing any action on your store.

Main product updates
PrestaShop Automation with Klaviyo: now built-in
Marketing automation is back in the core distribution as PrestaShop Automation with Klaviyo is now bundled directly into PrestaShop Classic. Right out of the box, merchants using it can set up automated email and SMS workflows, segment audiences, and personalize communications.
Open source focus
Ongoing Symfony migration status
We continue our long-term effort to modernize PrestaShop's architecture. In 9.2, another key set of legacy pages has been successfully migrated to the Symfony framework. These include Countries, Merchandise Return, Hook a Module, Quick Access, Email Body Translations, and Tax Rules.
If this migration is less visible on the surface, it brings, however, modernized security, better form handling, and cleaner extension points. These updated pages are currently available behind a feature flag; this allows for early testing and feedback before they become the default setting.
A busy month indeed
Alongside these platform upgrades, July marked a potentially record-breaking month for PrestaShop's open-source community, with over 700 pull requests opened and over 400 merged. To match this momentum and better recognize community involvement, the project overhauled its official contributors website, introducing detailed developer profile pages, custom time-period filtering, uncapped rankings, and embeddable achievement badges.
