Portátil Móvil successfully migrates to PrestaShop 8.2
PrestaShop took part in the 2025 edition of e-Show Madrid, with the support of partners, certified agencies, merchants, and the wider ecosystem that makes up our community.
The program presented at the PrestaShop Village auditorium combined the latest e-commerce trends and innovations with authentic merchant testimonials.
Among these merchants, we met Fizuli Aliyev, CEO and founder of Portátil Móvil, who shared his experience with the audience and agreed to tell his story.
In this interview, we speak with Fizuli, Jesús Raillo, IT Manager at Portátil Móvil, and their agency Difadi.com.
About Portátil Móvil
Portátil Móvil is an e-commerce business specializing in laptop spare parts.
Founded in 2011, Portátil Móvil sells and distributes components and accessories for portable devices from its headquarters in Seville (Andalusia).
B2B customers account for 95% of its business.
Its offering consists of a wide catalog of products from leading brands, ranging from essential spare parts such as batteries, screens, chargers, and keyboards, to more specialized components such as fans, casings, hinges, or internal connectors.
More recently, the company has expanded its refurbished product line. This more affordable alternative, which also has a highly positive environmental impact, represents 10% of its revenue.

Strategic migration
Portátil Móvil was based on PrestaShop 1.7, which had been progressively modified with custom modules and customizations. These additions made management more complex and negatively impacted performance and speed. In response to this situation, the management team made the strategic decision to migrate.
Initial context
In 2024, the team sought specialized support for this migration project and placed their trust in Difadi.com, a Spanish agency with over 20 years of development experience and the highest PrestaShop Expert *** certification.
Initially, the Portátil Móvil team, influenced by market trends, considered migrating to Shopify. However, after a more thorough and comprehensive analysis, they decided to remain on PrestaShop, relying on its open-source nature, versatility and flexibility, as well as its commission-free model.
"We seriously considered migrating to Shopify, but after evaluating the SEO risks and the solid experience we already had working with PrestaShop, we chose to stick with the proven solution. And honestly, we’re glad we did. Nothing beats the control and flexibility that PrestaShop offers to an established store." Fizuli Aliyev, CEO and Founder of Portátil Móvil.
Specialized support
After this decision, Difadi.com carried out a comprehensive system audit, which revealed:
- A website built with Creative Elements, which was affecting loading speed.
- Multiple third-party modules without documentation and with their own databases.
- Non-standard dependencies that made any updates difficult.
- A massive volume of data, with half a million orders, 140,000 customers, and 9,000 active products.
- High traffic with 40,000 visits and 250 orders per day.
The diagnosis was clear: no standard migration tool was capable of handling an environment with such a level of data volume and customization.
The challenge was to carry out a migration process that would ensure data integrity and compatibility with PrestaShop 8.2, without interrupting the company’s commercial activity or losing traffic.
Main technical actions:
- Server migration to a high-performance infrastructure optimized for massive databases.
- New front-office design, cleaner, more attractive and fully responsive, with exclusive design and layout for each section. No templates were used; everything was tailor-made for e-commerce.
- Full review and individual adaptation of all modules, updating compatible ones, replacing obsolete ones, and reprogramming custom developments.
- Full integration with their ERP Factusol.
- Synchronization with 5 marketplaces, including Amazon and eBay.
- Implementation of an advanced B2B area, with customer-specific pricing and product variables.

"Migrating is not just about updating a tool; it is about optimizing, cleaning, and building a solid foundation to continue growing. Portátil Móvil took that step with vision, and today it has a faster, more secure platform ready for the future." Diego Tamayo, CEO of Difadi.com.
SEO strategy: maintain rankings
In parallel, Difadi.com worked closely with the team at Webpositer Agency to maintain organic rankings and prevent any impact on visibility.
"The main challenge was to maintain organic rankings during the migration. Thanks to the joint work between the teams at Difadi.com and Webpositer, an impeccable transition was achieved, with no loss of visibility or drops in organic traffic". David Navarro, SEO Manager, Webpositer Agency.
Key benefits
The new e-commerce platform was launched in July 2025, with the rewarding satisfaction of a job well done.
The new online store, based on PrestaShop 8.2, offers a modern, lighter and more stable architecture, designed to support continuous growth. Among its key impacts:
- Improved loading speed and stability, especially on mobile devices.
- Higher user retention and reduced bounce rate.
- Optimized back-office performance and more efficient management of catalog and orders.
- Greater autonomy for the internal team to customize content without external technical support.
- SEO structure 100% preserved, with no loss of visibility or traffic.
- Multilingual setup in Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian.
"This was a very complex migration, but it was managed without a single day of downtime. Today, we work with a faster, more stable platform tailored to our B2B needs." Jesús Raillo, IT Manager, Portátil Móvil.
Future plans
With a renewed infrastructure, Portátil Móvil aims to continue growing in B2B and become the European benchmark for laptop spare parts, with the following short-term objectives:
- International expansion into France (2026) and Germany (2027).
- Automation and artificial intelligence applied to commercial and logistics management.
Conclusion
The project, led by the agency Difadi.com, successfully migrated a well-established store with a high level of customization and a large volume of data to the new PrestaShop 8.2 version, while keeping its positioning, integrations, and day-to-day operations fully intact.
Ultimately, the decision to remain on PrestaShop proved to be the right choice, as it is a solution capable of supporting large, complex projects with the ambition to continue scaling.
