Moving Categories and Page Tabs
eyespypro replied to eyespypro's topic in Configuring and using PrestaShop
Hi thanks for your answer. While you can move the categories in one sub category, i want to move them over to other main categories. How would I do that? I'll look at the module for extra tabs, specifically i want it for production specifications in a table or similar. Thanks -
Taking over a semi set up site using Prestashop (PS) and new to the platform, trying to educate myself. Nice cart BTW. In trying to adjust this new Presta cart, I am running into issues that I find rather shocking compared to my experiences with Interspire Shopping Cart (ISC), now Big Commerce (BC) for the last 4 years. ISC is the bastard child that is discontinued that was purchased and updated, BC is the new hosted monthly subscription base it migrated to that I reject. 1. In ISC, we could drag and drop categories at will. Now I have to move a bunch and it looks like I am SOL doing that and have to recreate manually? Really? No one has ever thought of a drag and drop feature for categories? Does it exist? or for that matter, anything in admin? This should be a goal of any developer, make it easier for us to get around & drag & drop or slide is a great way to help. 2. Tabs @ bottom of product page. If I attach a cut sheet, they put a "Download" tab Inbetween the "More Info" and "Comments" tab. My questions are: 2.1 How can I add a tab for a specifications table, and call it Specs or Specifications? 2.2 How can I add a tab for various or random text or images like dimensions & name it Images or Dimensions? Does that have to go to the Downloads tab & I need to upload it that way? I want it to show in a tab, not be a download. 2.3 How can I change the sort order of these tabs? Moving one left or right? There is nothing in the manual, so I hope someone can help. Thanks much.

Looks like exactly what we need. What is wrong with it? Why can't you finish it? Anyone good with modules to step in and finish? What was the last version of Prestashop it did work with and why do you say it is not working? Would like to move on this quickly... -

Hi, looking for someone who can help with migration from Fortune3 to Prestashop. One of our stores is on it and I can't believe how antiquated it is. Has anyone ever migrated a Fortune3 site over to Presta? If so, any help is really appreciated. Chris Winkler

Some questions I have for someone would be: Do you have any API Experience with sending the customer data to something like Infusionsoft or similar CRM/DB? Do you have any experience porting an online store, specifically Interspire Shopping Cart (ISC) to Prestashop? If so, what platforms? I was told Big Commerce is easy to port to Prestashop, and thought about first going from ISC to Big Commerce, then to Prestashop. Any competent help is appreciated! Chris

Having issues with the export wizard and ISC (Pre Big Commerce I own, well really don't own, had to pay a lot). Anyway, we use some wizard and it is messing up the variations (S-M-L-XL), as well as categories. Looking for some competent help in getting this to work. Have over 4,000 items, about 3,000 are live and the biggest concern is the 301 Redirects as I know they won't be the same. Can anyone help? Chris Winkler http://www.eyespypro.com

Hi, we are setting to move from our old ISC to Prestashop and we used the Cart 2 Cart to migrate a few thousand products and the test results on our dev site are mixed. Every product that had a variation, blue, black, red, small, medium, large are in no particular order, and there other issues to deal with like categories mixed up and every product is showing as not in stock, available in 2050, and the pictures thumbnails are out of order. And that's just a first glance. Then we gotta deal with the URL change so we don't loose 6 years of link juice. With a few thousand products, it will take quite a while to clean it up. Anyone offering or can help with the most painless migration, as this is looking pretty painful, and I really don't want to rip my hair out while trying to do this. Who has migrated from ISC with success in transferring this many products, or who has a service to help us? thank you in advance. Chris Winkler
