  1. Hi All, Sorry if this is in the wrong section... We made a decision to upgrade to 1.7.0.5 as we needed to make major upgrades to the site but it looks like we went backwards instead of forwards, not only is the product page and check out horribly laid out but it is so unstable, I have lost count on the hrs wasted trying to fix bugs and we still have issues. So my question is has anyone here got experience with 1.7.0.5 and has upgraded to the latest version 1.7.1.X? Does anyone know is it more stable? Does anyone else agree that PS has gone in the wrong direction? I went back to have a look at a demo module using 1.6 and the product page and checkout preview looks much better. Really really interested to know does anyone else have the issue of duplicated registrations from customers? Sometimes same info is used other times slight changes, when we ask the customer (if they leave a number) they do not appear to have knowledge of setting up a second account.   2. Hi Maria, Thank you for your reply, it is actually just 2 online stores, the 3rd one will be used with the POS? Ideally we want 2 separate stores and do not want to use Multi-Store. The problem with using a cron task is that the stock changes will not be real-time and once a day update would not be feasible ideally we need to link or use the stock levels from one database to the other and update both ways. Would anyone have a solution to this? Thanks
  3. Hi All, Great feedback, the more I read up on SM the more I think I badly need it. But I have one big question if someone could answer it I would appreciate it. We are currently using multi-shop and I don't like it, I think it has too many bugs so I want to ask if I decided to scrap multi-store and have two individual stores (different urls but same product with different currency) is it possible to share stock levels or link them between each store? So I would have 3 stores in total: 1. Online Shop 1 2. Online Shop 2 3. Bricks and Mortar Shop If I have a qty of 1 for product A then product A will be shown as in stock in the 2 online stores but if its sold in any of the 3 stores it will be changed to out of stock? Is this possible without multi-store as I want to run two separate reliable PS stores rather than 1 bugy ps store using multi-store. Is this what advanced stock management does?   4. Hello, Currently im trying to modify the source code of the site due to a minor nuisance with the site asking for the Name twice as well as age. My goal is to remove these unnecessary options through modifying the HTML files. Problem is I cant seem to find the correct HTML file that references the particular page Im looking at. Is there a way to find out via Page Source option? Or am I missing something? Thanks.
  5. Hiya thanks for your reply. What I meant was that I want to be able to filter out products via the filter module that doesn't have color variants but are still tagged with a color in features. I wonder if this is possible without creating a single variant for the product as some might have multiple colours for a single product. Thank you Clinton
  6. Hi guys, I know this has been asked before but I still have never came across any solutions so if anyone can help it would be great. I am using Ajax Filter which is great but there is one major limitation with PS and that is there is no way to associate a number of colours to a single product. Has anyone managed to this? The only way at present is to add in attributes but this is no use if it is a single product with no variants. I know you can filter by features and choose all colours but this is just text, I need a colour picker to be displayed not text boxes. Thanks in advance for any help

Hi EI Patron, I am having awful trouble trying to import my existing database (ps 1.4.8) to a fresh new install of the latest version, I have done everything as per instructions but its like my existing database is overwritten with the default database that comes with prestashop, is there some sort of compatibility issue with these two versions? Or am I missing out something obvious? Any help would be appreciated PS: does anyone know what is the best POS to use with the latest version of PS? Thank you
  8. Hi Guys, Can you help with this? I am trying to test on another domain but after doing everything as per instructions the default theme comes up with no products or hardly anything from the database, I imported the database via phpmyadmin and made the changes in the config setting file. I assume I am forgetting a big thing like other config files as it is now on a different domain name, any ideas? Thank you
  9. Hi there, Can anyone give me advice on what is the best POS system that is fully compatible with 1.6? I did like the look off Easy Retail Manager until I seen that it is not compatible yet with 1.6 which is making me consider Equate now? Must be straight forward enough to set-up and very user friendly, I need to make a move on this so any help or advice would be very much appreciated Thank you in advance
  10. Hey Guys, really appreciate your reply this is very helpful!! EI Patron, thank you I will go ahead with this and create a sub folder on the host server for testing as per instructions. I will turn my prod site on to maintenance mode and when the test site is up and running turn that on to maintenance mode and switch my prod site back to live so I can keep the shop running while testing the new install? Bellini13, thanks for the info but having already tried to install using auto upgrade and just about managing to recover my website I will work with the manual install as I think its the safest option, and I will back up everything completely. Do you guys know if the latest stable version fixes the issue where you have a background image for sub categories? When I tested it before it would create a box and leave a gap under the title after you change the image but was more noticable on mobile devices and it was driving me mad ha, I need the upgrade done asap so can't afford delays. Thanks again guys for your time!

Hi guys, On the instructions for upgrading, I am going from 1.4... to 1.6 so I have to do a manual install, it tells you to test your installation on your local computer using the likes of WAMP, my question is, is this necessary do you have to test on local machine or can you not just upload direct to a test folder on your host server? Or will this cause google SEO conflicts by having a duplicate site? Thanks for any help in advance

Yes exactly, even when I change that black background to white it still leaves a big gap on mobile but not on pc, I would rather have it gone and allow a gap to be dependent of the text for example if you click on other categories you will notice it more.   14. I added some text now so it does not seem as bad as the other categories. Will I have to just add the same amount of text for every category and sub category so the gap caused by box is not as obvious or can I remove it completely just showing the cat image with a description underneath with black text say? Thanks
