To enable products to show in the Specials/PriceDrop you need to add and set a new Specific price which then overrides the base price. Enter the price it was and then input the discount either in % or by a deduction in the currency you use. Simply lowering your price wont do anything. Hope that makes sense.

Hi, With the BlockSocial module v1.0 for the prestashop_new theme adds twitter, facebook and rss links into the footer but they do not open in a new window so how and where can the code this be modified and changed to do this?? The same problem exists for the advertisers block aswell. Also, is it possible to add more links such as Youtube etc...or perhaps this will be an option in v1.5 I have looked at the source code so I guess you could duplicate the code to add more links and just change the image file to suit, Yes?. Thanks if anyone can help

Hi Mike, I changed this following code in the themes directory. css/global.css - around line 35 presuming thats correct as I couldnt see what you were referring to around line168. Can you take a look and see if it displays correctly for you, it is fine at this end on IE9. / h1 { margin-bottom:20px; font-size:16px; Changed from 24px line-height: 22px } h2 { padding-bottom:20px; font-size:12px Changed from 18px } h3 { padding-bottom:20px; font-size:16px } h4 { padding-bottom:20px; font-size:14px } /* text

Hello, I wanted to reduce the size of the main title (heading) as it was much larger than how you see it as I have used the sub heading to create the title instead and thats the font size I would like for the main title. Although it doesnt seem to matter this way but I wasnt sure if not having a title affects search engines even though I already have the title I want on the index.php

Hi, I have tried to edit the css/modules/editorial/editorial.css file in the new_prestashop theme which I am using, but nothings changed, still getting a huge heading which I dislike, I tried changing the h1 to h2, I tried chaging the font sizes to a lower px all to no avail, I have force compiled and ensured the browsers cache is clear each time so I dont know where to edit this. Really thought it would be simple to edit that area but it really doesnt fit in with the site and why its such a large font setting is confusing to me. Does anyone know where spefically it needs editing? Thanks

Hi, I am using 1.4.6.2 and the theme prestashop_new. I was wondering where I can edit the font sizes for the MAIN TITLE and Subheading in home text editor module If you look at my example the font size is far too large and looks clumsy, I thought I would ask this time as my time is limited and I couldnt find a clear answer in the forums. I need to reduce the font sizes to fit in with the theme. I thought I maybe needed to edit it via the new themes global.css but dont want to mess about with this until someone can point me in the right direction. Any ideas Thanks, Duncan.

Hi, Updating to IE9 has solved all the problems I was experiencing, something simple as I thought and I've had nothing but trouble trying to get IE8 to work with versions 1.4+ but I avoided updating to IE9 for ages as its an awful browser to use in my opinion, just hope IE10 is better. Ideally some users may want to swap to Chrome or Firefox if they have the same problem as its obviously not a bug which for a while I thought it was, posting in the forum was my last resort after spending a couple of endless hours trying to work it out so if anyone reads this then they know what to do!

I clear my browser cache daily, but your comment gave me an idea and it seems its something to do with my IE...so having wasted loads of my time messing with other stuff in the BO and not thinking straight, the simplest solution was to try it on a differnt OS and browser which when on Vista and IE9 was fine, so looks like I will have to change to IE9 and see how that works!!

I know theres plenty of discussions going around about the text editor but none seem to answer my problem, normally I am patient and can work things out but at the moment I am getting a headache from testing and trying to remedy this issue on my back office. I have auto upgraded to 1.4.6.2 and used the prestashop_ new theme but since this upgrade I have tried everything to get my home text editor to work correctly, I am presuming its a javascript error as I cannot format anything, not in the CMS pages, product description pages and so on, the html box wont open, font colours, fonts etc. Its causing me a problem now as I need to add a whole new line of products and cannot put a description in how I need too. So far Ive flushed the cache, recompiled, removed and re installed the editoral module tried everything I can think of....please if anyone knows how to fix this let me know! Thanks

Free Shipping on Some Products?
led-watches.co.uk replied to SSNet Inc's topic in Configuring and using PrestaShop
Hello, I have been puzzled by this also for a while looking for solutions and searching forums and google and had it set up like you mention which is not great when a lower cost item can override shipping because of weight, I wanted to offer Gift vouchers and also Free shipping on certain items and a set category so I have sat down today and finally worked out how to offer free shipping, it works fine for me so I hope this post helps some people out. In short, you need to do something like this, I may not have written it in the correct order so change the steps around if I have, anyway set up a carrier first if you have not set one up. I have also attached an image of how I have my weights set up as an example incase its not clear when you get to this step. I could go in depth on all the shipping set up but this is regarding setting up free shipping so if you follow the steps below it will work, providing you have your other carriers set up correctly aswell. Prestashop version 1.4.4.1 Step 1: Go to: Shipping>Carriers> Name your Carrier e.g Free Shipping Tick the zones you want it available for Set Billing to According to Total Weight Set Out of range behaviour to DISABLE CARRIER (This is important otherwise it wont work) Save Step 2: Click on the Shipping Tab Select billing according to weight In the Fees box select your Free Shipping carrier and enter 0.00 for all the zones its applicable to. Step 3: Click on Shipping> Weight Ranges +Add New Select the Free Shipping Carrier you created Enter in your weight ranges 0.00 - 0.19 (Obviously, you can change the number to a lower value such as 0.0019 etc but this is how I have it set up) Step 4: Find all your products you want to offer Free shipping on and set the weight to 0.01 (Obviously, you can change the number but this is how I have it set up) Ensure all the products you want to charge for shipping are set at a weight of 0.2 and above Simple as that really, as long as you follow this method and use low values (high values wont work) and ensure your carrier is disabled and all your other shipping weights, zones are set up correctly shipping will be charged on the items you want and free on the ones you have set up. This way it also means you can have your Free Shipping items in any category. Obviously this is basic but it works as I have 7 carriers, 2 for UK, 2 for EU and 2 for Rest of the World plus the Free Shipping option. The way it works for me is perfect, obviously this may not suit everyone but it certainly is the simplest solution rather than messing around creating groups and so on until Prestashop develop a way to just tick the product for Free Shipping. On my site for example: Someone buys a gift voucher or a free shipping product then they get Free Shipping and 0.00 shows up in their cart, if they then add a item I charge shipping for, the Free carrier is then disabled due to the weight settings and the normal shipping rate comes into effect, if they add 2 products the normal rate shipping becomes disabled and my tracked service carrier comes into effect. I hope I havent missed anything out, as I am just writing this whilst its fresh in my mind while I am editing my Free shipping products.- 18 replies
