Problems with Fresh installation of 1.4 version

Hi all,

I am new with presta shop and I wanted to start a new project with this shopping system. I saw now that you released the new 1.4 versions some days ago.

Therefore that I want to start a new shop project - I think it is the best idea to start from the beginning with the new version.

I already installed everything fresh, but I have now some problems / questions:

Server Infos before:

Prestashop Version: 1.4.0.17

Server information: Linux #1 SMP Mon Jan 17 18:24:45 UTC 2011 x86_64

Server software Version: Apache

PHP Version: 5.2.17-0.dotdeb.0

MySQL Version: 5.1.54-0.dotdeb.0

1) At the backend: I saw at 1.3 version that you can choose there the language as well. So that I can get the backend in Spanish, English or German. My installation gives me only the install language (English in my case). How can I change this (maybe there is a trick?). I didn’t found anything at the Forum

2) The SEO Urls via htaccess – If I start with one language (Englisch I will get the Urls: http://www.myshop.com/) – If add now another language for example Spanish – the homepage url of the shop change to http://www.myshop.com/en/. So it makes an automatic redirect with more languages (which is on SEO bases not that well – because I want that the main language is still in the normal folder http://www.myshop.com/ and the sublanguages in the subfolders. I saw on 1.3 shops that it works there. Maybe there is another trick?

3) I have a problem with the themeinstallator. If I want to use it I get only a blank page. (means I get the menu etc, but on the place where the installator should show me something – I can not do anything – because there is nothing …). So I can not change at the moment any templates via this installator.

4) Other general question is: If I wants to change something at the stlye of the smarty TPL files, can I directly upload them or do I have always to upload them via the installator?

5) How long will it approx need that I can buy also prof. templates for the 1.4 version (what do you think?)

6) Also does Smarty 3 do not work on my server. The style stoped at the mid Div class. If I change it to use Smarty 2 it works fine.

there are so many problems with this version. there are blnk e-mails. if you order or subscribe to the shop you recieve bank emails.
