Finn
Hi guys I am setting up a new website and just started creating products and the images are not showing on the front end. They are visible on the back end but there is just a blank white space with the caption where the image should be on the front end. In v 1.7.6.there is no option to disable friendly urls. As it was a new website, I thought it may of been a setting I changed accidentally or an external module that I uploaded. So I deleted it and reinstalled and Im having the exact same issue. Anyone else having this problem?

I did disable the first option-the one that says..."URL rewriting (mod_rewrite) is not active on your server, or it is not possible to check your server configuration. If you want to use Friendly URLs, you must activate this mod". I disabled, cleared the cache, tested-same issue, enabled, cleared the cache-same issue. When that option was disabled I checked under the SEO option in my product and it did say the friendly urls are disabled. Your product images are showing okay? Just a quick update. So my hosting company confirmed that mod_rewrite is active on my server. I have spent the last couple of days in touch with them trying to figure out this. Their latest suggested solution is to switch to a previous version of Prestashop-Im going to try this tomorrow.
Piers
Does your web host use Nginx? I have just spent the last couple of days trying to figure out why all my images were giving 404s after moving from another host, and it turns out Nginx can't handle the redirect method Prestashop uses to turn /1507-thickbox_default/northern-sparkle.jpg into the acutal image path of /img/p/1/5/0/7/1507-thickbox_default.jpg

I did a manual install of Prestashop 1.7.5 and all images are now showing. Its not ideal as I wont be able to update until either the bug is fixed or I figure out what was causing the issue. For now, its all good though.

iakhan
Hello all friends. I was also facing images not shown error in Prestashop 1.7.6.4 i read some articles and find the solution. please in the admin, under Settings>>> Traffic & SEO goto Setup URL and enable NO option there, it should look like red color NO. URL rewriting (mod_rewrite) is not active on your server, or it is not possible to check your server configuration. If you want to use Friendly URLs, you must activate this mod. then Save page and it will work fine. all product images are showing now.
re-mac
Dear everybody, I struggled with this issue for an hour and found out that actually the issue was caused by the cache on Google Chrome of my Mac. I just happen to open Safari to realise that. I just deleted the post that I was about to post asking for help and decided to post this one instead may someone face the same issue and think that it is PrestaShop issue where it was not in my case. Best regards and thanks all!
