Need to hide 'out of stock' products.

We only sell one off items so it's pointless to have customers see an item

that can't be restocked.

Is there a method or add on that hides  out of stock items ?

Hi, if your products are unique they must have a quantity of 1 and deleted when sold, isn't it ? So you should be never out of stock.

I don't agree with non-replaceable items remaining visible to customers
after they have been sold.
It would annoy me to see an item I had been after, click on it and find it
not available. Especially it I did it 2 or 3 times. I would leave the site.

That exactly I said, just delete articles from your catalogue when there are sold.

Sure, that works if you sell a few items a day but not during a busy sale.

Ok so according to me you have 2 solutions :

1. not display out of stock products with a test on stock in template list / search. Very poor solution because direct access to product is stil possible and Google still index them 😞
2. create a module that each time a product is sold, is deleted or inactivated
