HOW TO REMOVE BORDER AROUND IMAGES Prestashop 1.7.6

Hi Everyone, 

I have 2 problems I hope you can help me with. 

I am trying to make my first online shop by myself , since I can not afford to outsource the job. I am very new in PRestashop, and have no idea about coding. 

I am trying to make the shop through the Back Office -dashboard. 

I use Prestashop 1.7.6 V. Theme Default Classic. 
My issues are: 

1) I would like to make the remove the border / lines around the product images. Please see the pic. for better understanding. 

Can you please guide me through it, or make it for me?  

 

2) I would like to make a "Custom text blocks" right under the Main menu, with a different background, so I can add the extra information .

I did , but the section is very high. I need it to be much shorter in the height.

I have just purchased the " CSS MAGICIAN - Ultimate Theme Configurator  - v1.4.0" But it doesn't allow me to make it the size I want. 

Please see the photos. 

Can you please help me out and I will be very happy, since I have been struggling with this for the last 7  days and I am pretty tired. 😕

In order to remove the white border around images you have three options:

1. upload images in perfectly squared proportions

2. change image settings to adjust the proportions for home_default images to match the propotions of the images that you upload (and hope that the theme will still look good)

3. crop the images with the Perfect Thumbnails module

Hi Daresh, 

Thank you for putting your time in helping me. 
Do you what free program is best to use for changing the sizes of the images ? 

Do you know how I can modify the height of the "Custom text blocks"? ( See the first picture uploaded )

I did cut my photo into square and changed the size to 800x800 px , and please loo at the result . A little bit better but still with borders . ( see the image attached from the chocolate box ) 
I would like to have a result very similar to the image attached ( Second Image ) 
Can you please advise further. I really appreciate your help.

Seems you want to remove the "shadow". Put following into your /themes/classic/assets/custom.css file to do so (for classic theme):

.thumbnail-container {
    box-shadow: initial !important;
}
