PF22
Hi there. I am using Prestashop 1.6.1.5 and there is something I did not understand. When I create a new Category, there is a parameter where you can chose which group of users have access to that category. I thought "Default" group means only indentified users that created an account on the shop. That is exactly what I want for one of my category, but it didn't work, everyone can access that category... any idea ? Thanks !
Simonas Invertus
There is no such thing as "Default" group in PrestaShop. There are three groups in PrestaShop which are clearly explained: Visitor - All people without a valid customer account. Guest - Customer who placed an order with the guest checkout. Customer - All people who have created an account on this site. If you want to limit access to the category only to VIP users, first you need to create VIP group, when you need assign some people to that group and finally you need to assign that group to your category. PF22
Thank you @Simonas Invertus. Actually it was my translation for French that was bad. In French version of PRestashop "Defaut" is actually "Customer" group. For my Category I tried to only use Customer group but it didn't work... Anyone can access that category. Simonas Invertus
Just to be sure. If you are not logged in, you can still the category?

Simonas Invertus
Do you have some custom development made to your shop? Do you have some third party modules that work with categories or groups?
PF22
I found ! Actually in Customers / Groups and for Guest and Vistor I had to set Bloc Category on NO, then it seems to work !
