Me too, I've exactly the same issue.
When trying to upgrade from 1.7.5.1 to 1.7.6.x
The shop was working fine, tried to upgrade the 1-click upgrade module, blank screen, restored from backup, but since then, whatever I do in the backend results in a blank screen or the same error.
so, it seems my shop is unusable now
