API Urls for frontend content

Hello,

 

We are currently trying to optimize our shop by making sure that a lot of elements get loaded through AJAX, however, we would prefer it if it was possible to do this with JSON. The only problem is that the URL's are very messy when we have to do this the 'prestashop' way. Therefore, we want to see whether the user has a certain header, if that is the case, we will respond with the data accordingly. If not, we will just show that specific page. 

 

Do any of you have a clue on how to do this properly? I know you could use the hook for module routes but it seems rather undocumented.

 

Any help is greatly appreciated.
