Assistance with: Restricted group products show up in All Products for all users

I've been directed to ask for help from the community after reporting a bug (apparently it's a known bug since my bug report was closed and referred to the original one which is over a year old!)

As it doesn't look as though it's going to get fixed any time soon, I could have a go at fixing myself if I knew which code to look at - I've reproduced my bug report below. If anyone can shed any light, or perhaps they've fixed in in their own installations already I would be most grateful if you could share.

Describe the bug
I created a group 'Agents', and a category 'Football Mugs' and only allowed that group to view products in that category. On the homepage, there is a link 'All Products', unfortunately this does not respect the restriction placed on the category and will actually show products in that category as well. I believe this to be a bug.
