Minor issue with product listing on front page

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to set up my store (Prestashop 1.7.5.2) and I am having an issue with the way some products are being displayed. It appears to only be a problem on the front page of the store. If I look in the categories, I do not see it. I have attached an image so you can see what is happening.

The problem is that the item on the left is the actual product, but the one on the right does not exist in the product listing on the backend and cannot be deleted. So far, I have another one exhibiting a similar issue.

I am using the default theme. So far, the only modifications I've made were to a few text strings within template files, and added a couple lines to the custom.css file.

Does anyone have an idea of what's happening, how to fix this issue and how to avoid it happening again? I'm only 6 items into building my product catalog and I fear this problem is going to become a big pain quickly.

Thanks!

UPDATE: I managed to figure out how to mark them as inactive in the database, which hides them from the website. But there is clearly a bug that is causing them to appear.

In both cases, I believe the duplicate item appeared when saving the product, then changing it from a "Simple Product" to a "Product with combinations". I have since learned that I need to create the combinations ahead of time before creating the product!
