** SOLVED ** Instalation of PS 1.4.0.17, no acess (error 500) in admin

Recommended Posts

Hi,
I just installed PS 1.4.0.17, following this step:
Creating local file call "tienda" inside an existing web.
Upload PS package.
Change CHMOD as stated during info.
Created database..

Everything was smooth and installed with no problem, the shop is visible but no way top enter the (renamed) admin.
Show up an Error 500. I delete install file also, really dis evething.

The only thing i m not sure is about editing a php.ini file in the root od directory?

I have not did it, as i don't see it in my shared server, could it be the problem?

Hi, i have to chek it but i believe i check where is the error:
My installation run in Spanish and upload through filezilla, the file admin.php in translations/es/admin.php is corrupted and don't load correctly, this afternoon i reload this file and i believe i fix the bug.
I would update this post if it's ok.

Thanks,
Alex,

FWIW, PrestShop install doesn't depend on the presence of a local php.ini

error 500? Check the permission set for the renamed admin directory

If it isn't a permission problem... rather than wrestling with it, I would delete and run a fresh install.
Across installs, I have had this happen (locked out from backend, immediately after install) and could never determine the reason... but the problem "disappeared" as soon as I reinstalled.
