awyossum
This is absolutely ridiculous. I can work in the back office, but can’t access the front office. Countless people have reported the same issue. No matter how much work I do in the back office, I can’t see what the shop looks like. How can you troubleshoot, let alone operate a business without knowing what your homepage looks like? The 1.4 Final version was released on March 17th. It is the 24th today and it is still not functioning. This is really needs to get addressed and resolved soon by Prestashop. It's been 7 days guys. EQ10000
For first step trying, please try to install with the sample data. It would give a whole picture on front office as well as back office.Or, you need to install a few modules to show features as blocks on home of front office, like... Category Block, Featured Products...You may find them under Modules -> Front Office Features (enhanced to group in 1.4, well done! prestashop developers!) farres99
you should check the file permissions mentioned after launching the installer, this helped me out.
thx2012
Was there ever a solution to this?I've reported in bug tracker the same issue...I read this thread mentioning similar issue: http://www.prestashop.com/forums/viewthread/100446/installing_prestashop/solved_500_server_error_on_fresh_installation_front_office_only
awyossum
Not that I'm aware of. I have downgraded to 1.3.7. Having seen the back office of 1.4, I would very much like to be able to use the new version. In 1.4, I can see everything in the back office, all the modules, etc. - but no front office. thx2012
RESOLVEDIt’s in your Apache Configuration… Do an Easy Apache Update (in WHM)…WHM >> EasyApache (Apache Update) >> Start customize based on your default profile >> Select Apache version >> Select PHP Version >> Select PHP Minor Version >> Select Short Option as per your needs >> Exhaustive Options List, there you will find “Mbstring” select that option(you can search by ctrl+F5 with Mbstring) >> start Rebuilding Apache…Anyhow, 1.4 admin office is much desired.. I’m glad it got resolved !!!!
