Pippo3000
alright, found some references to this topic (searching for authentication failure, e.g.) but with little success and maybe this new topic can help to consolidate the various topics, e.g. here or here and possible workaround here. I am on PS 1.3.2.3. issue is that I realize an increasing number of customers sending emails stating they cannot login to their account, even after they reset their passwords. I only know that it helps if I then assign them a new password from the back office which is however obviously not very professional and deters existing customers and I don't even want to know whether potential new customers are also locked out and turn away.anyway, one solution might be a change of the cookie key found in the setting file. however, I am more than just pretty sure that I did not touch the settings file since my very first install. I tried to disable the cookie key as described in the workaround posting mentioned above re this topic but then I could not even login to the back office anymore and at once undid the change. now my question is again: can I somehow disable the cookie key and/or encryption, lowering indeed security but at least making sure that passwords are accepted without problems?thanksphil
