NemoPS
You might need some module like advanced pack if you want the customer to choose one color for each. Or you can create a single product called "pack of 3" and have 3 attributes like pen1, pen2, pen3.

I need to give customer to select 3 out of 10 from my pre-set products list.
NemoPS
Yes, but if you want to keep it cheap, that is without spending 200 bucks for a module, you can try faking it with attributes. Each pen becomes an attribute with its own price. Give it a shot, you might like it.

Hence, it is not price issue.
