Indexation problem : missing products

Hello everybody,

Thanks in advance for reading me (and sorry for my bad english !)

I'm working for a company hosting his e-commerce website on Prestashop (1.6 version).

Since some weeks, the indexation of our products is really instable. Sometimes our internal search engine is completely empty. It goes from 0 to 10 000 products (10 000 is the normal amount). We have to restart very frequently the construction of our index (by clicking the "add missing products to the index").

Have you ever meet this problem ? Do have any clue about what is going on ?
