Adding newsletter

I've been trying for a while now and I'm unable to tie in my newsletter to an individual page.

I tied it into my blockpermanentlinks module which I've created the link and image. I have the link working and I've temporarily used the contact php file and modified it slightly to resemble what I'd like. Now I've been tinkering with the code and I'm unable to get the newsletter to actually send because I get this error:

Fatal error: Class 'Module' not found in /home/content/65/7602865/html/onlinestore/modules/blocknewsletter/blocknewsletter.php on line 3

I've looked at the php code and on line 3, i don't understand the extend Module thing, so I have no idea what exactly the error is saying.

I've added a newsletter.tpl file to my theme root directory because I want it to resemble the contact page, sitemap, etc. And as the send link I'm trying to get it to send to the blocknewsletter since the code is already done in there.

Would it be easier to hook the blocknewsletter into that area and just customize the blocknewsletter? The only problem is I don't want the module to always show up in the specified area if I make a hook, only on the newsletter page.

Sorry I'm really confused because I've been hammering away at this with no success.

Hopefully someone will understand what it is I'm actually asking and can assist me with this problem. I've spent the last day or two staring at php code and it's making me dizzy.
