Search field from barcode

Version 1.7.5.1. I created a new test product -> product with combinations, I created 2 variants for this product and so far so good. This product has its own barcode and the two variants respectively have 2 different barcodes. I need to have a search field that works by entering the barcode to do the barcode search. The only one I have found and that works is the one above near the fast access, the search is also carried out with the barcode but does not display the product "variant" but directly the first product from which the 2 variants start. Which idea?
