Fresh Install v Upgrade

Hi Folks


Rather than upgrade from 1.3.1.1 to 1.4

I was thinking a fresh install would be better/easier?

I have altered my template and many files in the past that I am worried about an upgrade.

I do not mind a new theme and appreciate that some custom modules I have may not work with 1.4
but what is important to me is to keep all my settings.

Anybody done a fresh install and kept all their old settings? if so how?

Any advice would be appreciated
