Installation error - Your configuration is invalid

Recommended Posts

I'm a complete newbie so please bear with me! Using Easyspace as my host. I keep getting the following System Compatibility error message at Stage 2 of the installation process.
Your configuration is invalid. Please fix the issues below:
Write permissions on files and folders:
yes /config
no /tools/smarty/compile
no /tools/smarty/cache
yes /tools/smarty_v2/compile
yes /tools/smarty_v2/cache
yes /sitemap.xml

I've checked my folders using Filezilla and there are no folders called cache or compile within the /tools/smarty folder. I've checked the files on my pc and there are no folders with these names there either. So I cant have forgotten to upload them. What shall I do? I cant go any further and the window just tells me to go to Prestabox if I dont know what to do. I do know how to change file permissions if only the files existed! Please help!

Hi New to Prestashop and have the same issue -
# Write permissions on files and folders:

# /tools/smarty/compile
# /tools/smarty/cache

Not configured but can't change as the folders and/or any files in those folders do NOT exist.

I have tried 2 completely new installations of prestashop_1.4.0.17 - one on a live server and one locally on WAMPP.

Be really good to get a resolution to this issue - obviously the install is refering to directories that haven't been created :)

@Jen000

Go to your installation folders and add a folder for cache and another for compile to the smarty/folder - make both writiable and you can continue the installation :)

This has just helped me with exactly the same problem, thank you!!!!!

I just thought I'd add, that I have figured out why I had missing files, it was because I was using a program already on my computer to unzip the prestashop file, and it hadn't done it correctly. When I downloaded 7zip (www.7-zip.org as recommended in the user guide), it worked and all the files were there.

Hi all,

I have just uploaded version 1.4 and have come across the same problem. The install/sys config check fails because of /tools/smarty/compile

I have created the folder because like others, the required folders were missing. I have checked and rechecked the permissions and they are all set to 777.

However I still get a red cross against /tools/smarty/compile and can't go forward.

Would appreciate any help you can give.

(Uploaded to Linux server, PHP version 5 I believe, permissions checked with online admin program Direct Admin)

Thanks all
