how to change the email subject

Sorry I am not talking about the translation but I want to insert "order number" to the email subject. Anyway, I have tried your suggestion but failed.

I have tried to add %s to the subject of the confirmation email: Order confirmation %s

However, the order confirmation email subject still cannot show the order number.

Yes this fails, because you need to prepare the form before. You can add variables only if they are added to the script before. Sorry I'm not a coder. I guess you need to make changes on some files.
