Make it faster

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

i have very urgent problem. I've developed for my customer 4 eshops - vyberhodinky.cz, vybersperky.cz, vhodnavyziva.cz, vyberparfem.cz.

But he doesn't want it, cause it's too slow. I tried to set smarty cache. But it isn't working properly. (Please try vyberhodinky.cz - 4 of 5 reloads are fast and than it screws itself up...)

Please help me how to set cache to make it run fast.
He wants now 1.1 because it's much faster, but it's too complicated for me to update it (i changed many inner files because of our sophisticated data import).

Thank you very much

I have viewed several posts where people asked how to make PrestaShop load faster. I am also one of those who are curious on what to do to make PrestaShop load faster.

However all replies is about "Check your server...bla..bla".. Well, to explain this for you further, my company has developed OsCommerce webshops for our customers for at least 6 years now. One of our companys trade advantages has been speed.

We now look for alternate shoppingcart solutions and we like PrestaShop very much. I can already now conclude that OsCommerce and PrestaShop installations running on the same (fast) server acts differently. The OsCommerce is a plain and simple cart that has a unique pageload speed, its not difficult for me to see that PrestaShop loads considerably slower than OsC.

Sooo.. what else than server speed is it that make a freshly installed (small database) PrestaShop load slower than a fully spec'ed (large database) OsCommerce with >2000 products, customers and orders?
