Frameskin
Hi all, I noticed recently that I recently have received hundreds of new 'customers' with the same fake name, but with different email address. These accounts do not have associated addresses, so I am guessing they have been created by bots. Other than delete them, what other options are there to prevent their creation in the first place? Would modules like re-Captcha be sufficient? Let me know
wxanl
Same problem here. Have not found any solution yet to stop those bots from creating an account. Blocking ip's does help a bit however.
Frameskin
I found a technician through Freelancer who coded in a Captcha to the account creation screen. Since then I've not had a single bot/fake customer created. Happy camper!

wxanl
Hi Frameskin, thanx for the tip. I allready puchased are-captcha module. It also implements a captcha to the login and contact form. As far as i can tell it works. I used this one: https://addons.prestashop.com/nl/veiligheid-toegang/42438-recaptcha-google-anti-spam.html
Daresh
Hi guys, if your shops suffered from bots creating fake accounts, you handled it with some security measures, but the accounts are still there, I just added a feature to the Tidy module, that allows you to delete all old customer or guest accounts that have no addresses (meaning it's an account that hasn't been used to place any order on the shop).
