Display carrier in checkout based on postcode

Hi everyone,

Is there a way to show / hide carrier in 1.6 and 1.7 based on address information ?

For instance in my case I need to do that in function of the postcode given by the user at checkout.

EDIT: I found a way to disable a carrier in the database based on their postcode but it's not what I want, I just want it to hide in that checkout, not in the DB
