hawkandtrowel
Hi All, Have any of you using Paypal got the Paypal email saying you need to get PSD2 ready. Is there a module that will do this as I have 7 shops and the process given to me by Paypal is extremely lengthy and complicated. Answers on a post card please, any help on this matter, I am surprised there is nothing on here about this. Email Text from Paypal below. It pays to be PSD2 ready. We’ll get you up to speed. As a business accepting card payments, your online checkout will need upgrading to comply with a new European Union directive requiring Strong Customer Authentication (SCA). The directive applies from 14 September 2019, but card issuers are working towards SCA by April so that their systems are fully operational by the deadline. What you need to do? Because you’re using a PayPal Pro direct solution to accept card payments on your website, you’ll need to update your online checkout to meet card issuers’ PSD2 obligations. We recommend you integrate, test and launch your new authentication processes as soon as possible. Missing the deadline could lead to declined payments. mattwilkie
Are you saving any of their information as a customer ? As my store uses Paypal but simply refers to their site let them do the work and then comes back. I haven't had that email that you have.
Guest
My Email says as below. But it is an iframe on our site so not sure if that classes as hosted or not What is PSD2? From 14 September 2019, card payment providers, such as banks, will require at least two forms of authentication to initiate a customer card payment. It’s a result of PSD2, the European Union’s second Payment Services Directive. These providers are working to upgrade their systems by April so that they’re fully operational by the deadline. We’ve got you covered Because you’re using a hosted payment integration, your customers are automatically directed from your website to PayPal once they’re ready to pay. And since we host the payment process, we’ll also make sure you’re ready for the new SCA requirements that are expected for card payments. We’ll take care of integration – you’ll just need to log in and check your payment account settings.
mattwilkie
By their wording sounds like you won't have to do anything either, As its all done through Paypal itself. The host transfer and payment information as such you aren't storing anything or carrying out the payment.
Guest
This gives a bit more info https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/psd2?utm_campaign=A_Elq_UK_201901_2773_B2B_PSD2_HSS_Email1_UK_en_GB&utm_medium=email&utm_source=Eloqua&elq_cid=15018799 It seems to come down to whether we are classed as "hosted" or "Direct" In the module we select ifame with website payments pro. So this means the iframe is embedded in our checkout page allowing customers to pay with payapl or card directly on the site in an "iframe" So the question would be would this be classed as "hosted" or "direct"
eleazar
As long as you do not use a Direct to Paypal Button in the product section and only offer Paypal at checkout as payment method, everything's fine. This is not about iframes.

I think you may have that wrong. Direct to PayPal button would take the customer to the paypal hosted page to make payment - and so PayPal will be all over that. This is about about accepting CARD payments directly on your own website. So the question about the ifram eis relevant because does the frame mean people are entering card details ON OUR SITE or on PAYPAL Just had this from the module devs which is very disappointing Thanks you for contact us, in our module we don't have yet developed this option. Unfortunately, for this version of Prestashop 1.6 there will be no more updates of this type. There will only have a bug fixes if the clients has one of them. The evolutions will only be made in the PayPal module for prestashop 1.7.

Afaik this does not comply with the EU directive. Anyway, how about you switch the radio button at the bottom of the module's Konfiguration from direct to manual. Not ideal but at least the PayPal 3DS will take care of things
