Source code appearing in Top Menu

I had made a few changes to ps_mainmenu.tpl to display menu thumbnails, but it was not successful so I reverted back to the original code. But since then, { assign var=_counter value=$_counter+1} appears in my top menu. Can't find any solution. Please help. Thankyou.

I use Prestashop 1.7.4. and here s my ps_mainmenu.tpl file
