how to make automatic sending of emails?

Hi guys, Im looking if there is some way how to send emails from prestashop with mail templates from some php script(cron). We have a shop based on dropshipping and our parent shop provides to us XML with statuses of orders.

I a found a way how to change statuses of orders in prestashop DB/admin. But I want to send emails on behalf of our shop with presta templates to our customers as well. Do you know which one class I have to use? I suppose that mail.php but what function from there and what parameters I need?
