Fatal Error (after error after error after error.....)

PrestaShop does not want to work for some reason. I've tried clean installs 3 separate times, and have my server admin working with me... We can't get this to work, it's frustrating!

Right now when trying to access the site, I get a simple "Fatal Error" message. The PrestaShop log has this entry:

Indeed, there is no header.php file (or footer.php file). Nor are there any CPanel error log entries.

When trying to access the backend, I get an internal error 500 message, but no PrestaShop error log entry OR CPanel error log entry.

What in the world is going on?! If I can't even make it past install, I'm truly wondering if PrestaShop will be more headache than help further down the line...
