pedro2061 Posted December 23, 2008 Share Posted December 23, 2008 Windows 2003 server only 1-first go to your phpmyadmin and backup your database and remember where you save you database after backup complete just close the phpmyadmin. 2- rename you store subdirectory to storeold 3 -make a new store subdirectory and chmod 777 your store subdirectory 4 -Download the new release of prestashop unzip the file. Them ftp Upload the new Prestashop file to your new store folder.5 -upload by ftp your old store Subdirectory img, mails, modules on windows 2003 server hosting don't chmod those subdirectory to chmod 777 just upload them only 6 -open your old store config folder upload by ftp the settings-inc.php file to your new store config folder them chmod 777 the settings.inc.php file only 7 -them run your prestashop installation http://www.myprestashop/store/install 8 -them certify 9 -them when finish it will tell you to go othe frontoffice store but don't go there use your ftp program to delete your install folder them rename the admin subdirectory to admin444 or what ever number you was using on your old store admin.10 -now you done with the update. all your old setting remain the same as before. except the info block.11 -how to get around that go to your new store modules and uninstall you info block. 12 -on modules click on configure on you block link and on the midttle you will see a box that say block link change that to Information and click update. 13 -now it get trickey remember you old store the one that you rename storeold ok 14 -now go to your phpmyadmin and make a new database name it storeold them import the backup database on the new database. them close the phpmyadmin. 15 -open your ftp program login and go to the storeold subdirectory and open config subdirectory edit the settings.inc.php and change the name of the database only to storeold and save the file. them close the ftp program. 16 -Now you can http://www.myprestashop/storeold/ and you old prestashop cart will still work them you can click on the information block on your front offices and click on the link so you can copy and paste the information to your new store on http://www.myprestshop/store. 17 -Now you go to the backoffices and login on your new store them click on modules and click on configure the block link them on the first two boxes you can put the name like Delivery and on the buttom box you put the whole link of the delivery that is located on the buttom bar on you shopping cart page and press add link and so on. if you required more help on this part you can e-mail me at [email protected]. hope this help this is all I did to upgrade or update mine prestashop store.
