Login needed to see the store

I need some help with a question i have...

Is there a way to hide your store so only logged in visitors can see it.

Lets say i visit the store, im first confronted with a splash page asking for my login details and then after i enter them i can move on to the store.

i need this function for a wholesale store.

I am looking to see if there is functionality built in for that feature, however, you can have a seperate user management for signup that would grant access to the store.. For example, I have set up a store for a client at store.theirdomain.com and set up a usermanagement system at theirdomain.com that has the main informational site with a registration page that populates the customer database as well as allowing access to store.theirdomain.com. There are alot of open source "member management" systems out there. You would have to modify the script to add the customer to ps_customer table in the database.
