[RESOLVED ] On Order confirmation do some action

Hey guys im new to prestashop started with 1.6.x version. My first question in this forum, in Prestashop wish do some function call on ORDER CONFIRMATION , lets say  popup windows with one url for 5 seconds and close automatically after timeout.

As i'm reading lots of things in this forum , do we really need to create module or it can be done with a custom hook? 

I have no clue how to achieve this? Would love to hear from you great contributors. Step by step tips and snippets will be great share for a newbie. Thanks in Advanced

Hooks are for modules to put code into.

However, you are free to change the Prestashop code directly or to create an override for a certain function. I have never done such a thing so I can't help you find the code. However, my experience is that it seldom takes long to find the code of a specific function: just find a specific string in the output an do a text search for it in the code.

Thanks for the reply. I believe changing prestashop code directly is not a great idea as of now for me, i did the override and it worked beautifully.
