Problems with voucher code and sale items in cart

Hello. This is my first post on the forum so I hope it is in the correct format and that someone can help.

The problem arises when adding full priced and sale items to the cart, along with applying a voucher code.

If firstly, I add a full priced item to the cart and then apply a voucher code the correct information is displayed - reduced price etc. If I then continue shopping and add another full priced item to the cart, again the correct information is automatically displayed, including the correct calculation of shipping costs on the reduced amounts.

If I again continue shopping and try to add a reduced priced (sale) item to the cart, the system will not allow this and responds withe the error message - cannot add this product because current voucher doesn't allow additional discounts.

Had the goods been added to the cart in a different order - the reduced (sale) item first then a full priced item, when then trying to apply a voucher code the system responds with - this voucher isn't cumulative on products with reduction or marked as on sale.

I am trying to allow customers to purchase full priced items with a discount via a voucher code, at the same time as purchasing reduced priced items with no further discount. I am sure that this should be allowed but I can't find anything about this in any thread. The problem could be solved by the customer performing multiple transactions ( checkouts ) but this is not very professional and has implications with shipping charges etc.

Hi Alan.

I'm afraid to say that your question is the first response to my one and only post on the prestashop forum.

I have not looked seriously at the latest version - 1.4 - but from what i have read, it does not contain the solution to what we require. I cannot understand why Prestashop does not allow what happens every day in every physical shop but from what i gather there are no plans for it to be included. I have made an official request that it be added and maybe it will if quite a few others also request it.

I have also scoured the Internet for individuals / companies who write software, as I thought a 'corrective module' could have been produced but I didn't find anything specifically. I must admit that i found lots of software writers but have not contacted any for a quote. I did think that I may be contacted by such people but again nothing has transpired.

I am sorry to say that I have not continued with my website at the moment as the whole thing revolves around giving discounts via voucher codes, having new stock at full price and older stock on sale - much like any shop on the high street. Also I have been a little disheartened by the response to my query / request for enhancement and have in the last few days been looking at alternatives to Prestashop.

Strange indeed that it has not been done.
I see its possible to set a shop wide discount via the Group option.
But this would further discount products already discounted.

I've posted the question a few pages now and asked a few people who made discount modules if it can be done.
I also have a few programmers looking into it.

I'm going to create a simple solution where at checkout, a discount can be applied on order total.
Only products which do not have a price reduction will be discounted. I'm not going to update every product will a sale icon or anything.

If it works Ill let you know
