Adding fields in new attribute group

Hi,

I want to use hookDisplayAttributeGroupForm to add new fields when adding new attribute groups. I managed to add any kinds of output there but I would rather use standard form methods to add the fields here. The example code from https://devdocs.prestashop.com/1.7/modules/concepts/forms/admin-forms/  does not work here as the hook is called from Smarty and does not contain 'form_builder'. Instead $hookParams contains a smarty_internal_template object, can this be used and how?
