Front Combinations

How on earth can I add to the combinations "Please Select" and have it default. I need it for the front for when a customer chooses their attributes. I need the please select to show, not an attribute.

I don't want to add it in as an attribute (which is already a mess and confusing from the get go) because it makes all the product combinations/attributes to long when you add them to a product.

Prestashop is great, but I don't understand why they don't do anything about the backoffice Combinations/Attributes. Like other ecommerce software, each combination with their attributes are separate.

Such as Prestashop:
Color: Red, Size: 10, Fabric: Nylon and so on......(They can get very long)

Other Ecommerce has them correctly:

Size:
10

Color:
Red

Fabric:
Nylon

and so on....(Very understandable and easy to change, if needed)
