Started Upgrading to Version 1.1 and Changed My Mind - Now I'm having issue

"Most" everything was working fine for me on 1.0 and thought it would be a good idea to upgrade to version 1.1.

I changed the orginal folder of prestashop to a different name and calld it "OLD" for backup.

I then proceeded to install 1.1. It all went fine and installed for the most part. The feature products did not display and the formatting was all screwed up but it was 'installed'. Anyway, I thought it would be too much work to screw around formatting and changing everything back to to how it should look because my design was getting somewhat close to finished in the first place on 1.0.

I deleted the 1.1 new folder on the server, changed the OLD back to the original name and everything was fine, got logged in and everything. The only exception is all the pics, including the feature products, are gone. I can see all the images and previous info, everything is as it was "in the back office" but I cannot see any product images on the website and when I got back into the catalogue and resave, it says....

"1 error
an error occurred while updating object product"

...

Assuming the permissions are all set right, what could it be? "Everything" is as it was as far as the info goes, I know that for sure" since all that I did was do a rename.

Hi cspringer!

When you upgrade your PrestaShop it upgrades your database, so you can't just move back your files to get back your old PrestaShop.
You'll have to delete all your tables and then install back your old database, the one you obviously backuped as said during the upgrade process.

Thanks for getting back to me! Of course, now I understand.

So, in the meantime though, I was stuck in between a rock and a hard place and decided to go forward with 1.1 after all. So just one more quick question.

As mentioned in my previous post, I was worried about taking the time to redo the formatting etc., however, since I am going forward with version 1.1, is it possible the replace the .TPL files under version 1.1 with the .TPL files from version 1.0 or will that cause any serious errors or issues. This is where much of the previous changes took place in addition to the global.css. Can I just copy and paste my global.css from version 1.0 as well?

Well I have tried to upgrade from 1.0 to 1.1 and unfortunately something went wrong and now I'm in deep trouble.
What I have done: before installation i created a full backup (folders and db). After unsuccessful installation i have restored files and db's, but store now is only a half functioning, the pictures are missing and products do not show up in categories (from page) errors updating products.... After reading this I have completely deleted database, created new one and restored from backup, but still not functioning.

Any help will be appreciated
