Product Item Count Shows Zero Products In Stock For Categories In Customer View

Prestahop Version:  1.5.2.0  

Theme: Free Default Template

 

I use sub-categories for my Jewelry section on my cart. When the customer views the main Jewelry Category " One of a Kind & Limited Edition Jewelry "  the  status line underneath it shows an erroneous product total of Zero (ie "There are no products.") :

If I enter a sub-category like necklaces or rings the reported status is correct;

I have tried different settings for categories in the 'Associations" tab in back-office but nothing seems to resolve this.  Anyway to inhibit the false message?

 

This is very - "off-putting" to customers who might get to the main category and see there are no products - specially with limited view mobile devices.

 

Note: You might ask why I haven't upgraded to a newer version of Prestahop?  

Answer: I tried and it ruined my site completely - destroyed my home-page gallery slideshow and ruined header alignments and structure - I was forced to revert back to my original version 1.5.2.0
