Installing 1.7.4.4 error during installation

NEWBI to prestashop: While the installation was backing up the files, At 7705 files left the following error showed up:

[Ajax / Server Error for action backupFiles] textStatus: "error " errorThrown:" "jqXHR: " "

I left the page and reloged in to the site. Everything is back to 1.7.4.3 and seems to be working in maintenance mode. Looks like nothing changed, "phew" Did anyone else get this error

I have this error in case of server timeouts (e.g. in the unziping of upgrade files). You can try to increase your max_execution_time php settings or do a manual backup and skip this in the upgrade process.. But be sure to have proper backups in any case (files & DB).
