how update 1.0 to 1.1 . step by step

Recommended Posts

I followed the steps in the wike http://www.prestashop.com/wiki/Getting_Started/

Used those update instructions, but because I renamed my live directory to mytheme_old and then recreated /mytheme as a new folder and uploaded my files into that, I then reset the file permissions on the new folders - as explained with a new install, follwoing the rest of the instaructions and everything worked without a hitch.

Oh, and once installed, i renamed the admin folder back to what I changed changed it to previously, and copied my themes directory back into themes

My recommendation - and how I see the PrestaShop installer also works.

1) Make backup of all your files
2) Make backup of your database
3) Turn off all custom modules what You are installed and also I am recommending to switch to default theme
4) Download latest PrestaShop to your computer and unzip it
5) Rename your admin folder back to admin
6) Upload all new files to your store - rewrite all files
7) Check file premissions
8) Start again the installer (yourprestashop.com/install)
9) Chose upgrade method and fallow instructions (two or three easy steps)
10) Delete install folder
11) Rename again admin folder
