prezzz
Hi,I wanted to ask what way are the updates handled?Obviously while setting up any site, a lot of .tpl files are going to be modified (also those belonging to modules, not only the main tpl files of Prestashop). But also often there is a need of modifying the .php files themselves. Hence my two questions below:- is it common that during upgrade, the .tpl files are being modified at all?- for those who tweak their .php files, is there any information on which files are being modified so people with modified .php files would omit those files during the manual upgrade?I want to plan ahead, waiting impatiently on the final 1.4 version to be released. Thanks,Prez
shokinro
- is it common that during upgrade, the .tpl files are being modified at all? If you follow the instructions, your changes at your theme should be kept after you finish. Here is upgrade instructions you can find it at PrestaShop WIKI http://www.prestashop.com/wiki/Installing_And_Updating_PrestaShop_Software/- for those who tweak their .php files, is there any information on which files are being modified so people with modified .php files would omit those files during the manual upgrade? If you have made changes on php files, it is your own responsibility to record what files are changed and what changes are made and apply them to the new version if it is necessary. If you hired someone to make the changes, remember ask the developer to give the a list of files changed and description of changes. From version 1.4 later on, changes should be made in separated files and places them in override folder. In this way, you can just copy those file over.
prezzz
The override thing is a brilliant idea, I'm already familiar with it from the Joomla system and like it a lot.Thank you for your reply!
