cardinal55
One of my customers wants a "catalogue" website creating - it's basically an ecommerce site without ecommerce functionality.Has anyone done this using Prestashop? I'm unsure as to the best Open Source package to achieve what I want - the most important requirement is that it must be Uber simple for my client to input products & pictures. All advice welcome - I've developed sites using virtuemart, prestashop, magento, zencart, oscommerce, ubercart & done loads of Joomla!, cmsms sites etc, so I'm not bothered which platform I use.Thanks,Geoff. Paul C
1. go to "Back Office > Preferences > Products"2. Set "Catalog mode" = Yes 3. Have fun designing your theme I would strongly recommend building any new sites in 1.4, even though it is still a release candidate. Paul
cardinal55
Thanks Paul,Is this a new feature in 1.4.xxx? I don't see the option in my current 1.3.2 site, although I do have vague memories of seeing this option in the past.Ta,Geoff.
Paul C
Sorry, yes it's in 1.4, not in 1.3.x, although you can easily do similar just by not displaying the add to cart buttons throughout and not enabling any payment methods. There's still the possibility that someone determined enough could form url to add products to the cart, but it isn't going to do anything As I said - develop for 1.4, it will save you a lot of work in the future anyway with upgrades, and the ability to sort pages and group pages in the CMS in 1.4 is probably going to be useful for your project Paul
