make products 'invisible' instead of disabling them?

any idea here for my issue. I have some 'seasonal' products which are in the shop but deactivated because I do not want to show them. now if someone find the product on say google or facebook like and clicks the link s/he gets an error message in my shop telling that the product could not be found. similiar for products which ran out and won't be re-stocked.

is there a way to make products invisible in the shop but leave the link working so google etc can still link correctly?

That's a good question, so leave it there but hide the link?

I've found the same need, but for a different scenario.

When a product sells out, I would like to remove it from the store...however I can't disable it straight away, because the person that just bought it might come back and it would not be good if they are met with an error page.

So I need to remember to come back and disable it a week or so later which is a not a problem but just a little bit of a hassle.
