[SOLVED] Vidahost - Can't Upload Images Via Prestashop (V.1.3.6)

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm just setting up a new Prestashop installation with a hosting company called Vidahost

This is my first time using v1.3.6 (I've used v1.3.1 previously) - Fresh install not an upgrade, brand new database

Everything has gone smoothly so far - install went as normal

I was able to set up Friendly URLs

Create departments and new products - all fine

It's only when I went to upload a product image I realised there was a problem

When I click on Save (to upload) the image - the screen goes blank - (please see attached screen shot)

Usually I see the image at the bottom after its uploaded (in the product creation page)

I get the same blank screen if I try to upload a category image, and even in the home text editor

It just doesn't let me upload an image. File permissions on the img folder are 755. None of the images I've tried to upload appear in this folder.

This is the first time I've used version 1.3.6 of Prestashop. It's also the first time I've used Vidahost for hosting!

It was a fresh install on a new hosting account, not an upgrade from an older version of Prestashop and a brand new database

I'm not sure if this is a problem with Prestashop 1.3.6, with Vidahost or with Me! - anybody have any idea what could cause images not to upload - am I missing something obvious?

Does anyone know if I need to change settings with Vidahost?

I've previously created sites using Prestashop v1.3.1 on Heartinternet hosting with no problems

I just wanted to check if anyone had any suggestions before I scrap this install and try again?

Thanks in advance

Brian

Hi,

They had to upload a custom php.ini file on to my hosting account which sorted the problem. The reason it wasn't working was to do with their default security settings and the way Prestashop handles image uploads or something like that? - all a bit too technical for me - but it works now!

If you have the same problem as me, maybe speak to your hosting company?

Hope this helps?

Best wishes

Brian
