tesshsu
Hi, I would like to know does anyone have experience migrate your e-commerce website from older platform to new one? no matter with any kind of platform, framework or CMS I'm just like to know if anyone could share the experience so far our company try to make new site with prestashop 1.7 and here is the stauts so far older (present) site done with virtuemart 3: 1. visitors has 1000/day maxima 2. Had around 15 transaction by day 3. So far had over 34000 users registers according our users table 4. The site has over 1000 products 5. The site has so far over 25000 orders 6. The site had created from 2012 and migrate new joomla 3 + virtuemart 3 in 2017 7. The site has done some SEO like with google analystic, tag manager and product link alias 8. The site so far work fine use all browser ( not fixed under IE10), including the mobile and tablet version 9. The site had connected 3rd party application like ERP SAP for stockage and orders, shipment managements After those patterns, I knew it could be pain the ass the migrate to Prestashop 1.7 but it is also necessary I think I had read this article: https://www.shoppingcartelite.com/articles/how-to-switch-and-migrate-your-old-ecommerce-websi which this method attract me to think about doing: FOURTH EXPERIENCE - LEAVE THE OLD WEBSITE & START A NEW WEBSITE ON A SUBDOMAIN ** HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ** PROS: KEEP YOUR OLD TRAFFIC, AND YOUR OLD SALES PROS: SUPER EASY, NO HASSLE, NO HEADACHE SWITCH PROS: GAIN NEW SALES AND NEW VISITORS CONS: HAVE TWO WEBSITES CONS: Create banner advertisements or links to funnel traffic to your new domain So what about yours experience and do you think it is also better first doing the new site with subdomain and doing funnel traffic to new site from older site? thank you so much
