Editing and adding products manually WITHOUT going through categories

Hi all.

I have noticed that there is noway to get to a list of products in the catalog without clicking through the subcategories first.

Am I missing something here? It seems like quite a few extra steps are needed. I would simply like to access a product to do a little editing or manually add a product. But it seems that I have to first go into the category of the product before I can access the actual product.

is there any way around this? A fix or perhaps an add-on that will allow me to access a list of products or a specific product so I can edit it quickly without going through the category list each time?
