Changing the general layout of the page

Guys,

I was wondering if anyone could help me as I am new to Prestashop. I would like to modify the layout of my product page, by adding new sections to it. in order to be able to list different attributes for specific products. I also would like to know how I can ditch the right hand column on the page, and where I would need to go to achieve this. I have uploaded an annotated screen print to give you a rough idea of what I want to achieve and I am honestly hoping that someone will have the answer for me as it has been irritating me all day. Any comments or tips would be greatfully appreciated.
