I can tell you that PS 1.7.4.2 works perfect in this, with the default theme of course, so I have the impression that you are using a custom theme, in fact, in the default theme the button of add to cart is disabled if no stock available and not allowed to order.

yes in product list there is no add to cart button but when viewing product there is a add to button, just did brand new installation on wampserver and cart without ajax does not work on classic theme, it doesnt add to cart

It's working even with the Ajax disabled, the only thing is that the products number in the header is not refreshing.

Do you actually think 1.7.5 will not have any bugs? It's the Prestashop way of working. They start new Versions all the time, like this they can always say its beta its beta its beta. Not one 1.7.x version has ever been stable and we are talking about a time frame of 2+ years. Never seen such a mess.

I beg to differ,  we have and have  seen many implement 1.7, from 1.7.2.4 we felt confident that 'we' could provide for clients.  With release of autoupgrade and it's support via git we see a better upgrade path to 1.7 than all previous releases. Why?  For long time there was not official 1.7 autoupgrade module so most theme/module 1.7 customers were new shops.  the 1.7 theme/module market is mature so moving to 1.7 is much easier....

I guess what I'm saying I've seen much bigger messes with previous major versions because themes/modules were often not yet compatible.

For pre 1.7 shop managers, they must seriously consider upgrading in near future if they want not only native new features but also themes and modules that are 'significantly' more feature rich.  template inheritance allows developers to do things that are impossible in previous versions.  so we can write '1st world' features...

at end of day I respect PS for burning down the house to build 'best in class' framework for open source ecommerce.

happy ps'ing, el
